I did it!!!!

So I did it!!!! I made it through my first week back in work after a lovely, relaxing Easter break. What a week it was though! I can give myself a pat on the back, I managed to stay on track with Slimming world even with temptations left, right and center. I went back to my slimming world group yesterday and I lost 2.5lbs, my sw consultant did say that I have probably lost a little bit more though as I got weighed in the morning last week and there is a few pounds difference in the morning! So far so good and I'm still feeling pretty positive. I did have a little hiccup during the week when I was feeling a bit rubbish but it was down to some individuals not speaking to me in a very nice way. I managed to eventually rise above it and realise it is not worth dwelling on things like that as I know that I am a better person as I would never do something like that to anyone and also in the bigger picture it doesn't really matter. Anyway back to my week on slimming world, I made some really nice things for my tea. I made slimming world chips which are amazing and they are syn free and I did them with the slimming world sausages from Iceland and made some caramelised onions to go with it! I also had salmon with veggie rice and made syn free tartre sauce and I even had some rice left over for my lunch the next day and took some smoked salmon in with it, it was really good! I'm making fajitas tonight for my tea with Ricky and I will just add the syns for the tortilla wraps and any sauce I have. I have also been doing more exercise this week, going for hour long walks with Ricky and it has been really enjoyable! I also treated myself to some boxing gloves and pads so I can increase my exercise and make it more interesting! Ricky is going to teach me how to do it, I can't wait to start!

Ohh and here they are, did I mention the gloves are pink!!!

Here's to another good week! :)

A preparation day

Today I was at a bit of a loose end and was getting frustrated with myself because I couldn't decide what to do and I ended up wasting most of my day just doing nothing, so I decided to get myself prepared to starting again with Slimming World. My Slimming World class is on a Thursday and I haven't been for the last 2 weeks because it was Easter and I had been pigging out so I avoided going. This was the worst thing for me to have done but I'm not going to beat myself up over it, I'm going back to class tomorrow and having a fresh start! I went to Tesco and got myself some smoked salmon and eggs so I can have a nice breakfast (which will be syn free) and I went to Iceland and got some of the frozen Slimming World sausages, meatballs and a Chicken Tikka Masala meal (all syn free) so I've got something in to get me started. I made myself sausages and Slimming World chips for my tea and if I do say so myself it was lovely! So all in all I'm feeling pretty positive about my fresh start with Slimming World.

Now it is time for me to unwind and relax. I always find that giving myself time at the end of every day to pamper myself I feel better the next morning. I cleanse, tone and moisturise every morning and evening and since doing this I have noticed a huge improvement in my skin as it was always quite dry. I still get the odd patch of dry skin particularly around my chin but doing this every day does help me feel better. The products I use are mostly from The Body Shop and they really are fab! I use mainly the vitamin E range but I do use some other products that suit my skin too. I also have tried lots of different cotton pads and I have found that the M&S fairtrade ones are amazing, they are really soft and would recommend these over any others. They are £2 a pack but they are really good quality.

And lastly if I've had a particularly stressful day (or sometimes even if I haven't) I love to give my scalp a good massage with this amazing contraption! An absolute bargain from the 99p Store!

Easter Holidays

So I'm nearly half way through the second week of the Easter holidays and so far it has been a lovely break. It was my birthday last week and I was spoiled rotten by my family, friends and Ricky. I went and had my nails done last week as part of my birthday present from my Mum, I love them!

I went out for my birthday with my friends to a fab restaurant in Heswall called Barton Rouge. The food was incredible, you should see the size of the Naan Bread they serve!

I got some beautiful presents from my two best friends Vicky and Rach.

And I got a beautiful Jewelry set from Ricky <3

I've still got the rest of the week off, so looking forward to relaxing and just enjoying my time off!

:)

On a positive note...

So to start my journey I think I should tell everyone a bit about myself and talk a little bit about some of the positive things I have going on in my life right now. My name is Rachael (which you have probably guessed by now) and I have just turned 26. I have a wonderful family who are always there when I need them no matter what and I wouldn't be where I am today without them. I have THE best friends in the whole world and they are totally wacky but I wouldn't change a thing about them, they're just amazing! I also have an incredible boyfriend called Ricky who is my rock and I love him more than I could ever put into words. He makes me so happy and he even puts up with my meltdowns (give that boy a medal), but on a serious note, he is just amazing and I am very, very lucky to have him in my life!

So to sum up, I am pretty lucky that I have all of these amazing people in my life! I have learnt in life that keeping positive people around you helps you to stay positive. There is nothing worse than negativity that will just bring you down and make you feel awful about yourself! So this is why I am starting this journey to keep myself positive and begin my weight loss journey so that I can become happier with myself and increase my confidence and self belief!

My very first blog!

Hi!

Well this is all very new for me, so it may take a while for me to get my head around it all. My name is Rachael and I am starting a blog mainly to help myself. I feel by keeping a blog it will help me to become more positive everyday and will also help me with my weight loss journey. A lot of people may not find any of this interesting which is fine as I said this is mainly to help myself, but if anyone does like anything that I post then GREAT :) I won't just be posting things about my weight loss, I will be posting other things that interest me too.

So here goes!
